I have just watched tonight's programme. It had a lot of interesting comments and facts about open-plan office design. I absolutely loathe open-plan working spaces, always have.
What do you all think? What sort of space do you work in?

I only watched some of it, but I agree - open plan gives you no privacy to work, many people find open-plan too distracting. Worse still is the concept of hot-desking, where you don't even have your own desk space but have to book in.
When I was at work - in an open plan office - people still put up barriers around themselves, - plants, files, anything. Open plan is not good.
Besides, where do you pin your to-do list?!
only works if you all get on, some do, some don't, nothing worse than looking over the partition at someone you can't stand. You could move, but when office space is often full to the brim, not always that easy.
I used to love my job till we merged with a firm whose offices were open plan. God I hated it, the noise, people everywhere you looked, having to sit in the same section as my boss, who was not the nicest of people. I went from liking my job to absolutely hating it. I used to share an office with just one other and we got on great and worked well together. Took vol redundancy as soon as it was offered to get out of the place !
Open plan. No, don't like it, but that's because I'm sane.
it can work, but you have to like the job you are doing, and the people in it.
I did like my job till we moved to open plan offices. It was the death knell for me that !
