well my LG is 10 years old and still like new inside and out
but if you want to make sure no paint comes off a microwave then some like Russell Hobbs and LG do a stainless steel one (inside and out)
I have a Goodmans stainless steel outside, no sign of flaky inner paint after 8 years - so cheap & very cheerful, no problems at all not even a bulb

Thanks, seems like s/s is the obvious way to go,if they can last up to 10years they have got to be a good investment.Mick.T
Yep, one with a stainless steel interior's the answer.
Aldi is doing a very good stainless steel combi microwave for about £60.
I'm pleased with mine.
Cleaning the inside of a microwave with anything other than warm water will probably shorten the lifespan of the coating.

My Hinari microwave is 21 years old and the interior remains undamaged.

Panasonic of uncertain age. No sign of damage.
Scotman - that sounds like a lonely hearts ad :)
