Try The Lewis Trilogy in order, starting with The Blackhouse.

Yes, I have also read The Black House and the Lewis Man. Great author.
Read The Chess Men next, it's good and will finish off the trilogy.
The only Peter May I know of is Peter Barker Howard May, England cricket captain in the late 1950s and early 60s. He was the first England captain that I remember seeing play.

Don't remember him writing any books and he died in 1994, so there must be another cove of the same name.
Went to hear Peter May talk at our local library. He talked about his latest book Runaway which is semi-autobiographical. Good read but nothing like the Chinese Thriller Series. I asked him if there would be any more of this series in the future, but apparently not as his publishers at the time - Hodder & Stoughton - had said no. Pity as it was a great series. The Lewis Trilogy is worth a read.
Question Author
I tweeted Peter May last night to ask if he was writing anymore of the Chinese series, and, as Maggie, says, he is not. But he recommended The Ghost Marriage to find out what happened to Margaret and Li. It I set 5 years after Chinese Whispers, it is a novella apparently. I can't believe he actually answered my Tweets !!!
Oh, that's great news Samuraisan, must have a look for it as the Margaret and Li story was just left hanging.
