I have just moved house. How long do I have before I have to inform DVLA for change of address on driving license and also car log book?

I don't know but it took me a year to do mine with no effect.

Have you a redirection of your post in place?
Correspondence from DVLA simply states that you must notify them forthwith of a change of address, so I've no idea how long they take that to mean.

To be honest, I can't understand why you would take the time to ask the question - just change the addresses! For your driving licence, you can now apply online to change address at http://www.direct.gov.uk/en/Motoring/Motoringt ransactions/BeforeyouapplyD/DG_066944.
you are supposed to do it ASAP
It's illegal as soon as so far as I understand it.

It's an offence for your driving licence to have your incorrect address on it so therefore it's an offence the day you move and presumably your application to change it should be "in the post" the next working day.

It would be an offence punishable by points if you were required to produce your licence for any reason and it showed the incorrect address.
Cheers moomintroll1 I'd forgotten to do mine with the hassle of moving and everything, I did my passport as well. ta.
The fine for not informing the DVLA is 1,000 - is that worth the risk?
