Urban myth?

Hello. Is it true that a parking fine notice has to be delivered within two weeks? We have just had two for 'offences' in March, they apologised for the delay
Thank you

i think its speeding tickets that have to come within 2 weeks, not parking tickets

Yes that is correct.

Sppeding offences are criminal offences and a Notice of Intended prosecution must be sent so as to arrive in normal circumstances within 14 days.

Parking offences have largely been de-criminalised and are seen as civil debts. The same rules do not apply.

Have you checked all the other things - is it a proper parking space and were the markings correct? Were there proper notices displayed?
