does anyone know if there is a time limit from the time you paid something via debit card, to the time it is taken from your bank account?

3 months ago I stayed in a Hotel in Austria, and I have just noticed that an amount of money was taken from my account today, and this Hotels name is the reference on my online banking statement.
I am sure that the amount has already been removed from my account shortly after my stay at the Hotel, but I need to check this out with the bank before I kick up a fuss.
Also, if it turns out I had already paid this amount, how did they manage to take the money from my account again, and how do I get it back.

Can't you look at your bank statements to check if it was paid? I've had transactions done twice (usually on the same day though) so know it's possible. Just call whoever your credit card is with and tell them, they're usually very good in giving you the money back.
