I have just received my husbands financial statement (form e). He has lied about cohabitating with his new partner. He has stated he is a lodger and he is working on the house at weekends to pay for his keep. How do I prove he is lying? I have a copy of the property title register.

Is his name on the Title Register?
Question Author
no, its just in his partners name as he is still on the mortgage with me.
The Title Register proves nothing, then.

Does anyone else know they are in a relationship? If they both deny it, it will be difficult to prove
Let me try and understand - he is a lodger, aying no rent as he does work on the house at the weekends to cover that. Therefore if he is in work also then presumably ALL of his income is "disposable" as he has no rent, no utilities etc

Am I reading this right?
How do you know he is not working on the house to pay for his keep, or for that matter paying his new partner rent?
Question Author
Yes you have it right. But he still pays for the mortgage/bills on the matrimonial home.
The new partners income and assets should also be listed on the financial declaration, that is why he would claim to be a lodger
So jess131 is entitled to a share of his new partner’s income & assets?
Sounds like something his divorce lawyer has told him to say.
Blair in 2016:
“I can't come into frontline politics. There's just too much hostility, and also there are elements of the media who would literally move to destroy mode if I tried to do that.”
Sorry wrong thread. Tut.

I dont have a problem with that. What I do have a problem with he has lied. He is cohabiting with her and he has stated he isnt.
You could either hang around outside and film him every day, or have a private detective do it. Otherwise it’s your word against his.
You can't it's subjective.
His landlady might be his lover; how would that effect his divorce financial statement?
Hymie, no, she isn't entitled to the new partners assets but the lawyers can argue that he has more disposable income than he claims because the combined household income is greater, he is gaining a beneficial interest in her house (a legal term that means he could be entitled to claim a share of new partner's house). It all gets very complicated
What difference does it make?
The difference to his disposable income if he is in a partnership
Supposing he knows someone who lives down the road who is a millionaire, does he need to declare that?
Whatever he's doing he's living there for free whether it's as a handyman or a handy man. That has no influence on how assets will be split in a divorce. New partner's assets don't come into it (didn't in my 2 divorces for sure).
Jess seems more upset about the lying - everyone in a divorce, including solicitors, lie through their teeth. Difficult times usually.
