Just wondering if anyone will know who I can contact regarding my son and his friends playing football outside our home.

My little boy is 9 and his friends are 10 and 6 we live in an enclosed estate and they like to take their football goals outside and play football ..

they are to small to play over the local field .

Yesterday the police were called by one of our neigbours who often complain that the ball has rolled on this drive.

Children should enjoy themselves. They should also learn to consider other people. It was the pmsl at the police speaking to your "kiddies" that worried me. It sounds as though the police have just said "carry on" though?
Clearly not every family has children and so what if they do or don't? It is not a right of occupancy that your children can be inflicted on others, do you not have a garden?

More fool you for combining two treats into one, a day out is one treat, you had the opportunity to save TGIF for another day to be a second treat.

Your neighbour is clearly distressed and you don't seem to give a hoot despite two visits by the police.

Have you made an effort to speak to the neighbour in question?

Yes the police have basically said that there is nothing she can do to stop them playing outside their own homes. She has basically asked for the police to stop them but the police officer has told them that she cannot do that.

Me and hubbs are keeping close eye through window. So are the other parents.

,More fool me for combining two treats into one' it was my only day off on Tuesday Eccles am I wrong for wanting to spend the day with my husband and children ?

why can they not play in your garden or the other kids garden?
Forget the treat day, that's a red herring in this situation. I still maintain that youngsters shouldn't be playing ball games in the street, certainly not setting up goals - a bit of respect for other people's feelings is something every child needs to learn as they grown up.

No, but don't gripe about the expense of two treats when the 'kiddies' have no grasp of the monetary aspects but will appreciate two separate treats as opposed to one merged one.

Eccles I am not griping about cost I'm just stating that to take my children out for the day costs a lot more money than them having a play outside in the fresh air.
I agree that the treat day is irrelevant, it does little to put Kgrayz in a good light TBH.

I am struggling to picture the configuration of goal posts in the street and how they can't inhibit other residents freedom of movement.

Kids playing in the streets is OKish for residents who may expect to find kids in the road playing footie, but what about the courier drivers and other sundry visitors?

Were the kids playing with a ball today or just playing? The ball thing would irritate me too, but kids playing is just part and parcel of life.
Kgrayz, do you have a garden?
Question Author
Skooters, bikes and a go cart and my daughter, youngest son supervised by my husband were up and down for a little bit on their skates.. All before the police arrived.
That's been asked 5 separate times, Eccles (just counted). Not answered though.

Yes I have a garden
I thought I'd give it another go Pixie, in the hope of an answer!

Neighbourly disputes are very costly in so many ways and it is worth investing time and effort in maintaining and developing good relationships with your neighbours. From the responses received I'd have hoped that Kgrayz would have cottoned onto the fact that not everyone shares her delight in having 'kiddies' playing in the street.

For goodness sake...they are children, let them play.
^^Well, we have an answer. No irony there.
