How Long Do I Have To Find Somewhere Else To Live? Am I Still A Lodger?

After getting out of an abusive relationship I was out of money and went to live at a renting room with a friend. I live at his place without paying any rent ( because I can't afford it) and I am a full time uni student. The landlord does not know that I live there.
I live there eleven months and have all my bank account letters being sent to me at that address. The police also has on its records that I live there.
Lately, every time my friend doesn't get his way he is blackmailing me that he is going to kick me out. At times he has also blackmailed me that he is going to call the police on me and make false claims that I made him feel in fear of his life if he doesn't get his way.
I don't know what to do at the moment. I apply for jobs but I can't find anywhere that want to hire me and the money I have is enough to pay for my food only.
I can't claim benefits. Help.

Not willing to provide in public this type of information
Could a Woman's Refuge offer any help or advice?
Sasha, some councils help homeless, foreign students such as this council:
http://www.croydon.gov.uk/housing/optadv/homeless

Look at your local council's website. In the meantime check out the local Salvation Army who provide hostels for homeless men and women and if you are in Birmingham contact the fantastic charity St. Basil's who may be able to help.

Without knowing which council you are living in makes it very difficult to give proper advice.
I don't want your address, sasha. I just wondered what part of the country you were in.
how are you paying for food if you don't have a job, parents don't support you, can't get benefits or a maintenance loan?
Question Author
@bednobs I have a maintenance loan. That's all I was entitled to. That's what pays me the food
@hc whatever you provided me is enough for me to search on the internet and find it. As a uni student I know how to use google ;) Thank you for the help. I truly appreciate it.
@tilly2 For safety reasons I chose to let this question unanswered.
I wish you well, sasha. Hope you can find some sort of part time work very soon.
that's really odd - i didn't think that EU students qualified for maintenance loans - only loans to cover fees
Question Author
@ hc thank you for your kind wishes. I wish I find a job soon. That will be the perfect Christmas present for me.

@bednobs
EU students are considered home students and have almost the same fees and rights with UK students. UK students also get a grand that don't need to pay back. EU students are not entitled to have their fees paid. They can get a maintenance loan if they prove they don't have enough income to support themselves. Check Student Finance England website for more details
Speak to the staff - not the student union.

Are you an Erasmus student or an international student?

It may be the same member of staff that has responsibility for both types of student.
Will the Police come and arrest you ? No
Getting the police to do anything is an uphill struggle.

They may come and ask your side.

This happened to my agent when a client said he was looking at her son in an odd way. The client is now and ex client.

which brings me to - I think he is going to kick you our anyway.
and events may overtake you in that you will have to find somewhere else to live.
Does your Uni not provide student housing? Have you investigated this or is it only available to first year students? You could try citizens advice...its free,or get free legal advice regarding your situation from a solicitor...most will give a free 30 minute consultation. Many local charities that help the homeless will also advise you. Good luck.
Sasha82, you have been very well advised on this forum, I find it odd that you ask for advice but do not act upon it. Go to the Citizens Advice Bureau and they will tell you what to do next. I hope you will soon get sorted.

WR.
You can't act on advice to go the the CAB at 4 in the afternoon Ron. Give the girl a chance

I found a solution and found a way and paid a solicitor and got an online question. I will go first thing in the morning and see what my university has on offer and I will also go to CAB.
At this point I would like to thank everyone that took the time to answer. Guys & gals I really appreciate your feedback.
