After getting out of an abusive relationship I was out of money and went to live at a renting room with a friend. I live at his place without paying any rent ( because I can't afford it) and I am a full time uni student. The landlord does not know that I live there.
I live there eleven months and have all my bank account letters being sent to me at that address. The police also has on its records that I live there.
Lately, every time my friend doesn't get his way he is blackmailing me that he is going to kick me out. At times he has also blackmailed me that he is going to call the police on me and make false claims that I made him feel in fear of his life if he doesn't get his way.
I don't know what to do at the moment. I apply for jobs but I can't find anywhere that want to hire me and the money I have is enough to pay for my food only.
I can't claim benefits. Help.

I am guessing you may be an overseas student and don't have a network of family and friends in the UK to support you.

Your University will have various support and advice groups that you could approach. I strongly suggest you investigate the support network within your Uni.
sounds like a bit of an idiot. There is no time limit move out asap.

gaslighting technique is when you tell someone that you want something, the other person reply to you back, you have a conversation, maybe you didn't get exactly what you wanted, then you say the other person that they said the things you said and you refuse of telling anything in the first place making out the other person is completely crazy and made up the whole conversation.
That's gaslighting.

I am an EU student. I have no family around and I am staying in this country to finish my studies.
I live long enough here to be entitled to get a british citizenship if I apply to get one.
Never heard of "gaslighting", i use a simpler term..."nutjob"

If what you say is true, no one can live like that- go home.
Not as simple as just 'going home'. No doubt her parents have paid for her university studies and she needs to finish them.
Go home? She's a student so I assume she wants to finish her course!
I wasn't challenging you, I was second guessing your support network in this country.

As I said, go the Student Union or other Uni networks and see what they can do to help you. Yours is not an uncommon situation and the Uni is a good place to start when looking for assistance.

My parents haven't paid me and they don't have any money to support me. I got a student loan and I paid for it myself. I am not leaving my studies.
ok so no money, destitute, living with a manipulative bloke who clearly wants her to "return the favours", living in fear of being kicked out/homeless or worse. I certainly wouldnt stay for a course - i'd go home and resume studies later
Or do what Eccles says and take advise from the Uni.
You have no option but to tell your family and hope they support you properly.

It's alright. Everytime I tried the Student Union I got nothing but a leaflet. When I called the numbers on the leaflet I was given other leaflets and so on.
I am quite scared of not becoming homeless.
Im siding with bednobs.

I have one subject to finish to graduate and one chance from my uni. It finishes on march and I have done lots of work that I don't want it to go wasted.
I'm going nowhere and giving the pleasure to this guy of not getting a degree that I worked hard to get it.
Can i just ask, sasha, how it is that the police have it on record where you live?
What university is it?
eh? so you not getting a degree will give him pleasure? Mentalist alert, not that you needed an alert - from what you say you already know he's crazy. Getting a degree wont be much good to you when he's tied you to the bed, or chopped you into little pieces and puts you in his freezer

To protect me from my abusive ex they asked to record my address so they restrain him from coming outside my door. It is for my safety. I was a victim of domestic violence.

I prefer to keep my anonymity. It is a UK university.
