football banning order

i got a 5 year banning order under section14b civil court , i have recently read on the cps website that under section 14b civil banning order the max length is 3 years , can anyone elp me with info on the law and if this is true ?

3 years is the minimum length, not the maximum.
Section 14F(5) (duration of banning orders) of The Football Spectators Act 1989 (as originally enacted) stipulated 2 years minimum and 3 years maximum for 14B Banning orders made on a complaint.

Schedule 3, paragraph 6 of The Violent Crime Reduction Act 2006 (which came into force 6th April 2007) amended Section 14F(5) of the above Act to 3 years minimum and 5 years maximum.
