Sorry, no link.

When they crack down on mobile phone use in cars which is illegal, I'll give it some serious thought.

(Ok mobile's with ear phones or whatever they are called is allowed)

If you're seen using a mobile phone in your car its pretty much guaranteed you'll be pulled over. I guess thats as much 'cracking down' as can be expected.
My friend got a FPN for checking her phone at a red light...

I think 'They' won't be happy unless we're back in nappies. Yet 'they' trust us to vote? It's a 2-way street, (metaphorically)
I would prefer that people didn't smoke in cars when there are children in the car at the same time, I think smoking on your own in a car is okay
I was going to say the same as cazzz.. smoking with kids in the car should be a criminal offence. it makes my blood boil.
i don;t htink you should smoke in cars but how do you police it, people still smoke in shared work vehicles and still use mobiles, handheld
in the future i think they will have trump meters fitted as standard in all cars

this is american but happens all over the world

how many of you who hate smoking like a drink, go in any a & e especially on a friday and saturday night and see the damage done by drink

every drinker says i just have the odd one and never drink and drink

just to be sociable

one drink calms me down

i like to unwind at the end of the day Media URL: http://www.metacafe.com/watch/260534/drunk_driver_kills/

I don't drink or smoke dr.f but I feel banning a person from smoking alone in their car is unworkable, I would like to see smokers be more considerate of passengers though, in particular children and babies.
>> alone in their car is unworkable, <<

only unworkable not wrong ?
there are risks involved in smoking in cars, I have been a passenger in a car and have nearly been involved in an accident because the driver was trying to get a cigarette out and light up whilst negotiating a junction. I have also been in a car when hot ash/burning tobacco has dropped onto someone and caused a slight panic which has diverted attention away from driving.
Do people still smoke with kids in the car?
Making something law and enforcing it is 2 different things. Non-hands-free mobile phone use in a moving car is already illegal.

I don't often side with the smokers as it is a filthy habit and deserves the disapproval it is finally, at long last, getting: but it seems to me that if you are in your own car, on your own, then it is probably a step too far in protecting those unable to protect themselves, to ban smoking.

Now banning it whilst on the move as it is a distraction, that could be up for debate.
yes ummm, I do have an issue with that, I dont mind a person alone smoking in their car, but I do mind kids being forced to travel in a smoke filled car
>> get a cigarette out and light up whilst negotiating a junction. <<

safer on the bus or in a taxi with a driver like that does this person have a licence
I agree with that OG
I just thought people had more cop on nowadays....
