laptop on contract with dongle

Does anyone know weather its the laptop thats tied to the contract or is it the dongle? The reason i ask is my x partner paid the D debit and now hes stopped, so i have no connection, would i beable to use laptop on another internet connection?

you can use the laptop with any connection.

Though if the contract was not completed (I.E. you didn't run the full term of it) then the laptop may actually not be yours and you might be obliged to return it.
I think what happens, if you break the contract for the dongle, you get billed for the price that the free laptop should have been.
Also the full money will be owing for the dongle for the remaining time left on the contract.
If your ex took out the actual contract, it`s he who is going to end up with a large debt.
