Once again I have to appear here, as have not a job yet. I am now seriously thinking of becoming an HGV driver, but have yet to train for my Class 1 (Artic). Have looked at some of the schools, but according to them they are all the best, which brings me to the people I trust most in the world...You lovely helpful ABers!

Can any of you tell me which is the best one for training in the Midlands area? I would say the cheapest, but really the best first time pass rate would be more helpful. Instead of this I could work for a company driving Rigids (Class 2), and they could put me through this if I agreed to work for them for a period of time; 2 years minimum I would imagine.

Can any of you ABers help me with this, and if so thanks in advance for any replies?

If you have a class 2 then get some experience with a company first it will stand you in good stead. Also you will have to do your driver cpc which will be law soon but i think if you opt to go through a driving school that should be included, but any firm worth their weight would pay for their drivers to gain this extra qualification and would include 35hrs in the classroom being told how to drive properly..
