entitled to pay

hello. my wife is a part time hairdresser (16 hours a week) well the shop is closing for a week (owner going on hoilday) the question i my asking is my wife entitled to pay as its no fault of her own she has to have time off.

Your wife is entitled to holiday pay, yes, but this will come out of her annual holiday allowance.

So just as a simple example, if she normally gets 4 weeks holiday then this week that the shop shuts will count as one of those weeks and she will only have 3 left.
