I dont know, i wasnt planning on giving my name but sometimes i know if you do this with police or others they wont check up on it, because you withold your name.
it isnt the police its the benefit agency no connection are you really living in fear!!!!
You can do it annomously if u want to grass her up! but is this affecting you or are you just being nosey?
Question Author
it might very well affect me, its a family member and bloody well sick to the back teeth of what she is doing when i have to fight for everything i got, and no im not being bitchy, i do have health issues my self, but she is just downright filthy, lazy and all for what she can con out of life, and rubs it into us what she is doing, does that make me a bad person ?
No Therema it doesnt! if she is how you say she is then yes you should grass her up! Some people work there ass*s off and still cant afford to live so have to try and get what they can on the side! BUt lazy people who dont get off there ass*s and try deserve to be caught!!
Question Author
Still i feel guilty for thinking this, she takes pride in telling us what pills she gets from the doc cos someone else has told her about a new illness she can get, she could keep a third world country going with the medication she has, and certainly doesnt need it, then on the same breath tells us about where theyre going on holiday and when, while im living off 48 a week, and up to my eyeballs in debt till my appeal goes tho with my benefit, its not fair for the ones who really need to be on incapacity, andf or her to be shafting the system like she does and doesnt hide it
Well she sounds like she could maybe do with being grassed up, maybe it will make her realise she needs to go to work like the rest of us and stop poncing! If you repost her, it will be confidential and they will investigate as fraud is very high at the moment they want to catch everyone!! they will act quickly and she will soon have to pay her way!!

Well its not like this woman cant work or provide for her self, its that she WONT!
I think me and a lot of other people would probably do the same thing in your shoes! it is your decision totaly what you decide to do!
Question Author

in the head yeah, where else lol
Therema you have done the right thing
I am someone who thinks that if someone knows of a person getting benefits they should not be getting but does not report them is as bad as the person claiming them.
I would have no qualms in reporting anyone getting something that is paid for by other people
Question Author
Feelin pretty guilty this morning about it, and i know what your saying kittens is right, and i DO know ive done the right thing, i just gotta wait till the fallout now, but thanx everyone for helping me make up my mind
But she won't know it was you unless you tell her
Try not to feel guilty Therema, you have definitely done the right thing

Not defending your sister in any way - but you do know that some illnesses entitles one to free prescriptions, and others are entitled to free prescriptons because the earned income is low enough to qualify for certain benefits?

Disabled people are allowed to go on holiday.

A woman does not have to use her married name.

Incapacity benefit is not means tested, so it is irrelevant how much income they have between them to quailfy for it.

Ethel i know the ins and outs hunni it is fraud trust me, but its done now, and thanx PK for your support *hugs back* x
"she dosent need the medication" How do you know? A doctor are you? What makes you think you know better than her gp, who knows everything about her illness. Are you seriously suggesting that the person actually WANTS to take pills when they dont have to? or pills for an illness she dosent actually have? just in order to get free pills?
there might be things that she isnt telling you like she has an illness that entitles her to free prescriptions, or a prepayment certificate? perhaps she dosent want to tell a nosy busybody like you about her health problems? A chemist will ask to see proof of entitlement for free prescriptions, and this is also checked on a national level

Also incapacity benefit isnt means tested and is strictly monitored. if her husband works all the hours god sends then there you have your answer about how they can afford holidays

To be honest you come across as jealous and bitter. Jealous that your relative is more ill than you!
Bednobs, it is always a possibility that the woman doesn't take some or all of the medication at all, but is feigning illness in order to claim benefit. Personally, I'm not assuming anything either way, just stating that it's possible.

Also, chemist's don't always automatically check for proof of exemption. Some do, some don't. Although from June 1999 there has been an incentive scheme in place to encourage pharmacists to be pro-active in the government's efforts to cut down on fraud. They can now receive a 70 reward for each reported case of prescription fraud when it leads to a genuine investigation.

The prescription pricing authority will do a random check on, I'm told, about 25% of the prescriptions that go through the system so the majority of fraudulent prescriptions generally go undetected.

By the way Therema, reporting her to the Benefits Agency will not affect her ability to sign a prescription and state that she is exempt from charges. It is an entirely seperate organisation that deals with that and the two are not connected. To report prescription fraud you would need to contact the NHS Counter Fraud Service on freephone 0800 028 4060, Mon-Fri, 8am-6pm.
