claiming tax

have been told that as i had to buy my own uniform for new job i can claim tax back on it, does anyone know how to do this and is it really worth doing as uniform only cost me �26

You write to your tax office asking for an expenses allowance of �26 for purchase of uniform. They'll add it to your tac code.

It's only about a fiver in tax - up to you whether it's worth it or not.

You can probably also claim an allowance for washing/cleaning it - don't know how much.
