Am taking voluntary redundancy in a few months and am considering the best way to find a new job - has anyone ever landed a job via one of the online CV sites or should I stick to agencies and the local papers?

Can't say I've every heard of anybody who has got a job that, but..... what harm can it do, it will take 5 minutes to stick your CV on and if on the off chance something comes up all the better.

Good luck with the job hunting

My boyfriend has got his last and current jobs through www.jobsite.co.uk He's a warehouse/distribution manager. The good thing about these sites is that once you have posted your CV and ticked the boxes about what sort of job you are interested in, you will then get e-mail alerts for new jobs posted that match your criteria. Also, a lot of recruitment agencies use these sites, reviewing CVs as well as posting jobs, so your CV will get a wide audience.

Good luck.

Thanks to both of you - not sure what I want to do yet but sounds like it won't do any harm....Just wanted to be sure that they weren't a scam to get addreses and phone numbers to sell!
Your resume might become a sitting duck although some companies may actually approach you. It's better to actively look for a job instead than to rely on job resume sites alone.
