Hi.

Bit confused! (Easily done). I have a professional qualification in finance. I am having my post re-evaluated at work and can gain more 'points' if I possess a NVQ Level 5.

But the only thing the professional body says when asked what the equivalent of my qualification is '3rd year postgraduate'

Can somebody help! (I never went to Uni!)

Are you saying that you already have a qualification that is equivalent to 3rd year postgrad? If so, this is equivalent to 6 years at uni (I presume).

http://www.dfes.gov.uk/nvq/index.shtml I presume you've looked here. You should be able to translate it pretty easily - UCAS or DFES should be able to help on the phone if the website's no use.

Sounds like you're very qualified anyway!

Could it mean your qualification is the equivalent of a graduate who has been working in finance for 3 years, rather than someone who has been doing post grad work such as a master's or doctoral research?

Good luck with the re-evaluation.
