What new words annoy you.I detest upcycling,just what was wrong with recycling?
I realise that all words may have been new sometime,it's just this particular word that peeves me
It seems it dates from(Germany) 1994,but it's newish here?
There is also downcycling too,god help us.

I agree about upcycling, they use it a lot where I work, what an absolute nonsense.
What I dislike is the trend of merging words together like Brexit for example or labradoodle.......
I know it is not that new but 'shabby chic' gets on my nerves, its really just stuff that is dropping to bits...
While 'upcoming' has long been in the dictionary, I regard it as American and I hate the fact that it seems to be replacing 'forthcoming' in this country.

I love new words, I make them up accidentally all the time.


I think the organic nature of language is great.
Am I allowed to mention BREXIT ?

Even worse....on the Beeb at the weekend, someone mentioned FREXIT !
Is that another new biscuit?
I invented a new Welsh word recently, to be used when it really, really cold.....NOBLIO !

You would need to live here in South Wales to appreciate that maybe.
