Perhaps I should say our week is Sept 10th- 17th
I'm with Minty, I don't know Whitby but wish Janet all the best for a full and pain free recovery xxx
Mrs O would have been able to help. Alas, she no longer can. I hope there is someone else who can help.
If you like oysters, there is a very good, very tiny, oyster bar on the high street called Wheelers. There is also a very nice, bigger place also serving oysters and other food on the harbour, called The Moon and Sixpence.
Is it breast Ca? Sounds like 40Gy in 15 fractions?

I only went to Whitby one so I don't know the place. However if I could advise you, just try to eat healthily. That's so important right now x
Oh my !!!!!!!
So glad MrsJ has the Chemo behind her, hope you enjoy your break.

Have only visited Whitby on a day out so can't help a great deal.
I can't help with Whitby, but wish you both all the best.
Enjoy your break, paddle in the sea, eat ice cream and fish and chips.

You both deserve it :-)

And candy floss Susan. Enjoy your break.

Thank you all for your good wishes, I will pass them on to Janet.
Glad to here she is through this phase - can't speak of Whitby other than for fish and chips....some nice places on the N York Moors though, the Black Swan at Oldstead is fab and a 1 star Michelin, reasonably priced for what it is, but still a fair whack. The other Black Swan in Helmsley used to be good for afternoon tea. The Hare Inn at Scawton is also really nice.
sharrow bay is good

costs a bit but so what
nice picture window to relax in front of
books to read

eight sessions of chemo may cause quite a bit of chemo fatigue
o good food ....

three times five radiotherapy - that will also cause fatigue

finished mine - and no I dont have ca breast - mid july and dont feel too bad as of this month ....

and good luck .....
Helmsley is nice - Ampleforth chapel (if you can get in) full of the Mouseman pews.....Goathland (shades of Nick Berry and Heartbeat - Harry Potter too 0 the station!) but drive across the moors and autumn coming!
PP...Sharrow Bay?????? it's bloody miles away from Whitby.
Sharrow Bay is in Cumbria,
Whitby is in Yorkshire.
yeah but it is nice
and has good views
and when it is absolutely possing down
you are inside reading Dickens or something

and the food is good
Sharrow's Bay - that's the Lakes! Peter....Ullswater.

Sansend and there is a lovely small bistro, the Bridge Cottage.....there's also the Fox and Hounds at Goldsborough.
there's plenty in between Peter - I used to use the Boar's Head at Ripley for my Yorkshire office....my fav Yorks place is in Nidderdale, The Yorke Arms, under the withering eye of Francis Wilson, une dame et chef formidable.
