Fantastic time, Tony.....incident free I think....if you exclude the woman who got on the packed tube...doors closed and her bun was outside....BUN...I said......And it wasn't me!!!!!!
You can apparently buy them, which might be a nice idea for some people :)

It said on the radio that they are going to keep adding poppies until there are 800,000+ - that will be a stunning sight.

I wondered to myself what they will do with them all, afterwards........
Nothing worse than having your errrrrrrrm bun! trapped in a door, gness.
I wondered what happens to them when the grass around them starts growing.
We are forever mowing our lawns at the moment. Whatever, the poppies look a stunning sight on TV, an excellent memorium for the Great War.
It looked fantastic on TV but to have been there must have been brilliant. Glad you're all home safe and incident free xx

The grass is very sparse and dry at the moment. People were asking why they weren't staying there and grass cutting being a problem was mentioned....and I think it should be short term.

I don't think they would withstand the bad weather either but I'm sure there will be a huge demand for them.

When they are all in place it will be an amazing sight.....it is now...and so touching...x

It's a brilliant idea.......and living with folk planting them - did you do that, gness?

They are to be replanted apparently, shar. The National Memorial would be very apropos....

Poppies are planted by volunteers, DTC.....and can be ordered now....and received in three months....I think...I haven't looked into it all yet...x
how much a pop?
£25 each..may buy a few for mum and dad's wedding anniversary..they have everything.... it would be nice to have something of the centenary in their name :-)
I have been your right gness they are stunning, its a lovely idea whoever thought to do it.
I'd LOVE to see them. I notice that, to date, only 120,000 have been "planted". The total figure will be 900,000. Wow, it will look spectacular. I want to buy one, or two, afterwards, when they go on sale . I LOVE poppies, as you can see from my avatar.

Morning, Dee and Jan......People are being asked to become volunteers to plant the poppies......if I lived nearer I'd do it.

If you google Paul Cummins you can read the story of what inspired him to create this.....the living will of a soldier.....

They are only on sale during the installation so if you want to buy you need to reserve one.....

I'm in London again next month....I'll try to get back to see them then..it's going to be a spectacular sight.
Thanks kval, for posting the links for buying one. A great idea.
planning a wee trip to the smoke at the end of the month taking the boss to see Phantom so this will be added to the itinerary I think. Staggering idea, will be worth some photos
Question Author
You will get some wonderful shots, Slappy........the poppies are at slightly different heights to give the effect of movement.....and yesterday there was one lone poppy...far, far away from all the others.

Honestly....how one seemingly small thing can say so much without words..x
'Ordered' ours today as I understand it they will plant so many a day until 11th november,888246 poppies one for each soldier killed, and after that they will be posted to you. 100,000 already bought and after production costs (£8million) 10% will go to 6 military charities. Once all costs are covered the entire surplus will be distributed - potential income is £22.2 million, so could be a lot of money

Margo.....it's good that these poppies are giving so much in so many ways.... and if every one is bought!....☺
