Explain the purpose of confirming instructions and requirements for business travel and accommodation

Could someone help me with this question? i'm not looking for an answer, just a bit of help so I can put an answer together.

Confirmation shows that you understand the terms of what is being offered.
If you check back with the person who's issuing the instructions, and find out exactly what they need, then you are less likely to make an error when booking (which could be costly if you get it wrong, as incorrect bookings are often not refundable).
also it protects the secretary, who has a copy of the booking if anything goes wrong ...
One way to approach this type of question is to imagine what could go wrong if the control/action (in this case checking the details before making a booking) wasn't taken
