Children's writing

Does anyone know of a UK publisher that will actually read an unsolicited manuscript for a children's picture book? I would be really grateful for any ideas! I've tried the Children's Writers and Artists Yearbook but haven't had much luck.

I believe it to be a combination of persistence, luck and something in the story that sparks with the publisher. Unfortunately the potential supply exceeds the demand many, many times over.

You could try Chicken House. They have a bit of a reputation for giving breaks to talented first-timers.

Send it to popular mags......if they like it they will print. Short-cut to publisher picking up on it.
