Don't know if this has been asked before, so sorry if it has! My youngest son got the new England shirt for Christmas, played in it yesterday and got it muddy. I washed it more or less straight away with soap powder and stain remover but the mud stains can still be seen. What do the professional footballers use?(And before anyone says it...I know they don't do their own washing!). TIA

if its cotton put it thru a white wash on washing machine, nylon, soak in cold washing powder.

The new shirts are not made of cotton. I did put it in to soak after I got it out of the washing machine, but still no improvement!
Have you any washingmachine liquid? Soak the stains in neat washing machine liquid rather than powder for half an hour then rewash.
There is not really an easy answer - but what I normally do to my sons muddy footy shirts, shorts and socks is get a bar of Vanish and rub each individual stain. Also add some soda crystals to the wash.
steradent is a good stain remover without leaving a yellow mark like bleach. Blue washing powder mixed to a paste & left on stain till gone then launder.

try soaking in a solution of soda crystals and lemon juice for a few hours then wash as normal in the machine

I tried soda crystals but not with lemon, just soap powder and vanish.
I use Ariel liquid (not the gel stuff) and put it on all the muddy/bloody (lots of nose bleeds in our house!) bits, then put it on pre-wash, adding more liquid for the main wash.
Best I've ever used is Oxyclean - the original - also solves a multitude of ''stain'' problems around the house.
Good Luck
