Car Insurance no claims discount

Hi,

I insured a car for 3 years when i had my provisional licence. I was always under the impression that i could gain no claims discount even though i didnt have a full uk licence yet as i was using the car to practice in.

I was explaining this to a colleague earlier and he told me that was illegal and he didnt know how id managed to get away with it.

Is he spouting rubbish or are my 3yrs no claims invalid?

Please help as i have now had my licence a yr and 7 months and plan on iinsuring a new car soon.

Thanks

it does not mean that you have 3 yrs NCB, i would check,as not all insurance companies give it to you while you are learning,as for your friend,he hasent got a clue.
