home insurance is rated on a multitude of factors, and the details of these are known only to the underwriters / actuaries of the insurer. They include post code, age of property, construction type, property type, location, value etc etc ...... it would be difficult to find out costs. One major factor is the flood risk and you can at least check if a house is in a flood risk area, just google Environment Agency and you can search maps by post code which show the flood risk .... some insurers will even refuse to quote in highest risk areas.
If you know the postcode of the house you can obtain quotes on line for insurance so you can see if they seem expensive ot you or not.
Hope this helps.
