The Police National Computer (PNC) will tell them if you have no insurance. If you lie, they will then phone whatever insurance company, who will tell them that there is no insurance in your name. The police have heard every excuse under the sun regarding insurance, so it is best just to tell the truth amd take the punishment. It's people like you who drive without insurance and have accidents, who push the cost of car insurance up for the rest of us.
