Yesterday I spent the day once again minding my friend's handbag shop while she went to the wholesalers. A customer I was chatting to said she'd been in the previous week and said "Your mother sold me a lovely purse." My friend is actually 10 years younger than me! There is no way I can tell her about this one.

Oops, a compliment for you, but your friend might not be best pleased.
Perhaps her mother sometimes helps in the shop?

Nope, her mother is an invalid who never goes near the shop.
