My Vax vacuum cleaner has lost suction. I have taken it apart and checked that it isn't blocked and cleaned the filters, but it still won't work properly. Is it dead?

is the brush bar turning? if not, the drive belt has broken and you'll need a new one.

I bought a Vax in June, and the belt has broken 4 times. it's just been back to Vax for repairs. I'm not very happy.

best of luck.
bit of a problem with Vax however really easy to replace belts on vacuum cleaners (and they only cost a couple of quid) a;lways do it myself
Some Vax machines have a long flexible hose, check that it isn't blocked up.
Just a thought!
Coincidence, we bought one in June also, luckily no problems so far, and before any wisecracks from anyone, it`s used several times a week.
ps, Why not take it back to where you bought it from as it must still be under guarantee
