I have been given a barometer and I don't understand how to set it up. I presume that an adjustment has to be made using the small screw on the back, but I have no idea as to what to set it to. I live in North Wales - I believe it is something to do with setting it according to mean sea level or something like that. What should I set it to? Please can someone assist me? It would be much appreciated. Many thanks.

Good weathering!
For a really accurate reading you'd also have to compensate for any altitude difference between the reference station and your home. Scroll down to a table for altitude correction here
When I got mine I phoned, as instructed, our Local Weather Centre to give the current reading

Thank you for the answers, but I still don't understand which figure I need. Should it be 29.92?
How do I work this out please? I need it in 'for idiots' terms!!! Thank you in advance.
