Not likely to be dry here. Been piddling down for weeks.

Yes I am, for a weight loss aid

I think I'll go for it, it will be the third time, twice achieving  the full term, but last year I only made it about half way - shame on me!

I don't have weight problem, but I think my liver needs a little rest now & then. πŸ™„

Nope.

Absolutely not. I will, however, be cutting back.

Apart from the odd shot or two of brandy now and then, every month is a dry month for me. Only had two cans on Christmas day and, unless i accept one of the 3 invites to New Year's Eve parties, i'll most likely see 2024 in with a couple of cans and a brandy.

I will, however, have a good slurp in mid-Feb when we celebrate one of my daughters turning 40.

Just the usual for me! I rarely drink alcohol. Prior to Christmas, the last time I had any alcohol was in June, so it doesn't matter, really.

I simply cant remember when I last had any alcohol.  I just don't like it any more.  Hubby, like Ken, just has the occasional drink, usually a can of lager whilst cooking dinner!

And Ken,when your child hits 40 like our son did this year, it makes you feel old!!

I'll give it a go, for the sake of my liver.

Dry most of the year anyway.

Febs a bit shorter

Why stop at January? - If you think your drinking is a problem then stop altogether. I'll give it a shot (no pun intended).

Sounds like four of us up to now. πŸ˜ƒ

Countrylover @ 10;09 - "And Ken, when your child hits 40 like our son did this year, it makes you feel old!!"

That ship sailed 3 years ago - this is daughter number 2 and she will be followed to that landmark by daughter number 3 in 2025. I then get a few years off before son turns 40 in 2028 - if i'm still waking up in the morning by that time🀞

Trouble is Ken, I was an older Mum.  So I'm feeling very old.

I don't drink that much . Usually one shared bottle a month for a lunch but occasionally a couple of martinis on a Saturday. So  no shan't bother with dry January!

Counteylover I am an even older mum. It doesn't bother me one bit as I've always had a young outlook!

No way. It would be an impossibility for me to manage it.

no, not a chance,i like my real ales too much.

I don't drink a lot anyway - I spill most of it.
