Good Morning Early Birds!

Tuesday. A light frost this morning. Winter hasn't quite gone away yet. Still, spring can't be far behind...I hope!

A quick check on Tiggy this morning, sound asleep, bless him. He had his supper though!

Nothing at all on the calendar for this week. Yet! there's enough to do indoors, so I shan't get bored!

Morning boaty xxx how're you doin'. ?? We've gone from sunny skies to a tropical storm with all the trimmings and of course it brought its best friend ....humidity !! I am not enjoying it one bit !!

I remember that kind of weather from Malaya days. Almost have to swim through the air. not pleasent at all!

I think it helps if you grow up with that kind of weather...first time i encountered it was around 1980 in Sydney in January ....it wasnt all the hot but coming out of a shower then going straight back in for a rerun !!

Adelaide has had increasingly more humid weather over the past 10-20 years ....think I'm going to emigrate to Tasmania !!

I agree. It was normal to the Malays. By the second year I was used to it and it didn't bother me. But when you consider we left UK on 6th January 1966, with four feet of snowdrifts on the ground and minus 8°C, to land 12 hours later in mid thirties. Quite a jump!

Too true. I wouldn't want to do it again! I loved the country and it's people though.

No snow here, but there is a frost. The sky is clear and the sun will soon put paid to that!

fine ta..but my plans to have a good tidy in the garden are now shot..going to paint bathroom instead..

Mine's tiled on all four walls, only the ceiling needs to be painted.

round the bath and shower tiling..the rest is a wooden cladding to waist height..and the top a kind of plaster stucco ..is that the word ??

It'll do. I take it you mean standard plastering?

When the bath was taken out (because Vera couldn't get in or out on her own) the bathroom was turned into a wet floor shower room. The wee man doing the tiling was only supposed to tile the shower bit. We paid him to do the rest. It looks much better. It's due a proper clean out. I take everything movable out, use the shower to wet everything, walls and floor, chuck some bleach about spread it all over and then leave it while I'm out doing my running around. When I get back I rinse it all over and sweep the water, bleach and gunge down the drain. A sparkling shower room.

would like to do a wet room..porch project is costing £8k so bathroom will have to wait !!

You'd be glad you did minty. It's so much easier for everything. there is a chair in there that Vera used while I showered her, and I used while she showered me when I had the swine flu. Useful bit of kit.

that will be next home improvement but badly need porch..very small entrance hall which is full of shoes and coats..can't move..porch will have a custom built pigeon hole style shoe rack on one wall and coat hooks on facing wall..nice clear wee vestibule allowing better access to under stair cupboard which holds vaccuum..toilet rolls..bin bags...electric meter..and assorted stuff
