It has just started up here in North Wales. The police may get a chance to run over a Huskie.

For Divebunny Baths Togo Baldic and Danny:- the last time I heard from Retrocop he was ok, that was 12th Feb, I have emailed a couple of times since but heard nothing back so I hope nothing is wrong. He is waiting for a heart operation so is obviously not 100% and is missing everybody here. I will pass on you good wishes and hope he...

Started bright and clear up here dannyk. Clouded over gradually and snow started about 15 mins ago. Eased off now, but still low grey cloud that looks full of it.
we had brief flurry this morning in SE London at 6.30am but it didn't settle
Bright + clear here Togo, I think a well trained marksmen could easily get a moving target.

Started snowing here last night at 10pm, but too wet to settle.
Bitingly cold early this morning and a heavy frost, which is now clearing due to very bright sunshine. Hope it lasts long enough to take the wee pooch out!
Lovely sunny day here, a little brisk.

Baths @ 12:08, with respect, do yourself a favour and go back to that thread and read Shoota's post @10:52, as someone with 20 years of weapons experience I think he's got it spot on.
@: Baldric ...will do,...brb...;) x x
fairy nuff Baldric, but why didn't they take the correct tools for the job?
They would have been out on the road already and they do not routinely carry shotguns.
Had they been at the base they could have deployed with the right gun, assuming there was someone available at 3am to open the armoury and issue that gun....

Can't answer that one atm, maybe it will come out later.

In the meantime, cold and dry here on N/Kent Coast, heavy frost o/night, weak sun now but the clouds look a bit ominous.

X'ed posts, thanks Shoota.
Quite a few rural Police areas do have a call out list of suitably qualified civilian firearms users (deer stalkers etc) who are prepared to help out with dealing with wounded animals (usually deer) but I'm not aware of whether this Police area has that facility, also don't forget that this dog has bitten once so they would be unwilling to expose a 'civilian' to that risk and also that getting anyone to even wake up at 3am might be difficult never mind turn out.
I'm fairly sure that getting this issue dealt with speedily was the prime concern and resulted in the use of the 'ways and means act'...
My local council have a Dog Warden service who deal with all strays, dangerous dogs etc.Was there not a similar service available to officers attending?
It was 3am Danny.
e have a Dog warden on call at all times Shoota

Hi Baldric. Don't like to pester, but not heard from retrocop for a while. Are you able to confirm that he is in good health and pass on regards? I have apologised to myself for going off piste. The snow has stopped.
@ Baldric, with respect, why snipe at me, and not OP? ;)
