No point going out just to get wet and cold. No point wearing fresh clothes if your snug in your PJs. What's not to like?
In olden times people never got up in bad weather, except to feed the beasts and milk when needed. Clocks and factories put paid to that.
I don't think I have ever, ever, remained in my nightclothes and/or dressing gown all day unless I was seriously ill. Even when ill, if I could get up I get dressed. The very thought of not putting on ay day clothes turns me over. I can't see anything nice in it at all.
when you have worked for over 40 years - it is hard to "not" feel guilty.
Even though I was medically retired 10 years ago - some mornings I awake - OMG - gotta have a shower, do my hair, do my makeup. Then I realise no, honey you don't work anymore darlin and I sink back into my mattress again ready for another slumber which never comes LOL
Everyone has what I call a duvet day at some stage, I was out today met up with old colleagues for coffee while my oven was in that cleaning foam stuff, but there was a day, I think a month ago I never got out of the bedroom until the afternoon, that was just to get a coffee, I could only do this as I knew none of the family would be calling, had they walked in, I'm sure they would have been calling emergency services for me, one day in bed and they panic I may be ill.
Recently doing a good clear out, I quickly discovered I had more shall we say 'Lounge wear' than day wear.
NJ, I see no point in sitting in good clothes to watch TV or do my paperwork , I stay warm and save my good garb for leaving the home (which is quite rare these days).
As long as things are freshly laundered and you are clean too, what the heck.
I share New Judge's view. Additionally, I like to go to bed in pyjamas that have had a chance to be aired during the day, and not in night clothes that might still carry cooking - or other - smells.
I'm always about early with the dog, when we get home if I'm not going out again for a while I normally change into shorts and t-shirt, don't own any PJ's and if I did it would not occur to me wear them during the day.
I don't like to be in nightclothes after waking up, but I'll often wear indescribably worn and comfy sportswear round the house, changing if I need to go out. 'Painting clothes', not PJs.
I have not I must confess, not all day. Sometimes after I've been out and bathed I put on my pj's for the rest of the evening and slob out with chocs and wine especially if I am on my own!!!! :-)
