Do all Smoke Alarms (Detectors) have 9 Volt (oblong) batteries.

Yes, there have been other types, but these days, they're either a replaceable one, or a sealed Lithium battery (10 year lifespan.)

Trivia Corner:

Christmas Day is known in the Fire Service as one of their worst days. Apparently, all those children's toys with "batteries not included". Scary

Moral: go for the sealed type :o)
