On the 6 o'clock news it stated that Pistorius's lawyer has requested a separate room in prison!!!
Whats that all about, he's not going on holiday For Funks Sake, he killed someone!
Makes my blood boil!!

Oscar Pistorious deserves his punishment but I wonder if you have any idea of what the prisons are like in Africa. He is not gay so no doubt he is very worried. I heard recently that the English chap, Shrien Dewani, was also very worried about landing up in a communial cell.

But I suppose he actually thought he could get away with it being classed as accidental, and the lawyers saw a chance to make a fortune.

He shot his girlfriend thinking she was a burglar, I hope he gets a cell with a burglar who thinks Pistorius is his girlfriend.

The way I look it for what it worth is .A beautiful young lady died .A man who had so much has now lost it all .I was not there so can not say what happened .If OP got five years or fifty years is still was none of my business. Why do people who have nothing to do with the case want the earth to open up on this man .Tomorrow hopefully we will go about our business in freedom he wont .Does it make those people feel better he is in jail .Can you imagine the loneliness ,the utter devastation going on in his mind .There were no winners in this tragic case .He was wrong ,glad I did not have to rule on it .The girl's family have shown great dignity in their terrible loss .My prayers would be with every one concerned in this case .

I've been fuming about this all day!
Regardless of the whole 'murder / manslaughter' charge, he shot his *** girlfriend dead!

Ten months inside is an absolute joke, and no we hear that he probably won't go to prison but will go to a hospital because he's disabled.

But hey, it's South Africa... money talks!

The whole thing totally stinks. Anyone with an ounce of sense knows he didn't think it was a burglar. It's a total insult to try and persuade the world differently.

I've not commented on any of the threads since his sentence. My guesstimation was that he would serve 6 months inside, prior to the judgement.
Lots of talk amongst work colleagues about their disgust etc, I pointed out that it was a prime example of SA justice:

Baby sham, ive been on the hospital wing of a prison and no, its not the same thing. (UK prison, admittadly but cant see much difference in prisons around the world)
BTW, it was walton prison, Liverpool.
