I was a tool setter in an engineering plant. We made parts for the motor industry.

I worked in a bookies. It was practically a part time job but suited me well.
NHS, Occupational Therapist and Community Rehab team manager now retired.
1) Bulb sorter.....those that grow in the garden.
2) Worked in Woolworths sweeping up
3) Porter on Peterborough North Station.
4) Worked for Charrington Ales in the East End of London.
5) Worked cleaning walls for a company called "Clean Walls"

and i still vote bloody TORY.
Pen pusher extraordinaire - for a construction group dealing with figures - lots of the bloody things.............

lol sqad, to think you gave up doctoring to do all that.
So that's why you went into ENT sqad - didn't like labour.............

Wasn't the doctoring just a profitable sideline? A weekend and evening occupation?
Building Manager for a well known Insurance Company was the official title,in effect it was just a glorified Caretaker,good wages though.

My brother (no longer with us) had a maths degree and had a job juggling figures for a big company. He hated it, said he wanted to work outside. He got a job as a dustbin man and loved it. As we say in Yorkshire there's nowt so queer as folk.

I worked in accounts pretty much since I left school but have been a fulltime mum/housewife for the last 15 years, except for a brief stint as a florist after I qualified.
Worked in salaries almost all my working life.
Had a brief spell at a home for "maladjusted" boys as it was called then. The same school as the Cyril Smith debacle and at the same time. But I never saw anything untoward going on.
