does anyone know how much it will cost me to have an offside front suspension ball joint dust cover replaced at a garage on a 1998 nissan micra it failed on the mot. and I have never heard of it.
Many thanks.
If it' just the rubber 'boot' that's failed, a new part will cost around three quid, and a decent mechanic should be able to fit it with no more than half an hour's labour. So my local garage would charge a total of around £30.
Go to a good local garage NOT a main dealer , it will be a lot cheaper.
Show them the MOT fail certificate and ask them to sign it stating that they have done the work asked. Then you just need to have the actual part that failed retested , which is a lot cheaper than a new full MOT. You need to take the car back to the same garage with the certificate.
