Presumably because he broke the law and they just presided over a mess and teh shareholders/boards agreed they could keep their pension entitlements. Sorry- I don't see the connection

He was trading illegally and trying to cover up his trail , the bank is also at fault as they should have had safeguards to stop it happening.
