not a very interesting question im afraid. was just wondering if anyone knows why, when i try to download an AVG update, the average speed it goes at is about 27B/sec which means i havent been able to download any! im a computer dunce and i dont really understand the whole virus thing, but my friend's comp downloads them mega fast so whats wrong with my machine? i havent downloaded anything else for a while but it never used to have these problems!

If you've switched to broadband, it's possible AVG is still trying to use your dialup to update. Go through the options and there is a tab to change how the software is to update itself.

If this doesn't work, a reinstall probably would. Alternatively, you can download the files from http://tinyurl.com/8a6zq and tell AVG to update from those specifically rather than going to the internet.

im on avg and also had this problem for a while.i advise letting it update as altho it will take time you need ur protection !

i never solved the problem it just seemed to cure itself so stick with it !

Try UK Tech Support - usually very good.
