I have been prescribed Sitagliptin ( Januvia) Does anyone have experience of this medication and its side effects other than those listed in insert please?

I have to guess that you do not live in Europe as in my experience it is not usually prescribed for Type 2 diabetes.

To be honest, i have never heard of the drug, but it is apparently a drug that inhibits the action of glucagon which increases the blood sugar.

I will watch this thread with interest.
I take this - in the UK - and I have not experienced any noticeable side effects.

Hello there-thank you for your responses.

I am a bit confused Sqad - 1) Why do u think I don't live in Europe? 2) why is it not usually prescribed for T2D's?

I have been advised that is is a relatively new drug but neither Diabetes UK or Merck will disseminate on it. My GP
says " It is just mischief makers" but it is my bod!
I would be willing to share further research findings. Am due for consult with Dispensary Manager on Monday next.
