Hi all, This will sound odd but I'm wondering if any of you have a bed that isn't a divan style, and what you use as bedding. Our bed has spindles head and foot, and I find that a duvet "rucks" up too much as it can't hang over the bottom of the bed if you see what I mean. and then it's very hot and uncomfortable. I'm interested to hear what you think.

We have a sleigh bed (King size) thing but we have an extra large quilt (maybe six foot?) which hangs over the edges but fits the bed from top to bottom.
That bed would have to go - or,at least, surgery on the spindles at the foot!

I have a footboard too and tuck the duvet inside it.

Lol Gingejbee - I can picture myself with a saw sorting the spindles out! I have tried tucking it in but it always ends up in this big ruck. I think I shall abandon the duvet and use a sheet, a blanket and an eiderdown - just like the old days; although we stayed in a hotel in France last week and that's exactly what they had. Funny how things come around.
Some hotels have duvets with a short bit of fabric on the bottom to tuck in under the mattress to keep quilt moving and giving you cold feet!
Don't know what it's called that bit.

I use to have a footboard but made sure I didn't when I bought a new one.
I have a brass bedstead and just have an ordinary duvet. It looks a bit untidy at the bottom so when I make the bed I put a throw across it....

We've got a metal bedstead with headboard and footboard. The footboard is the same height as the top of the mattress, so the duvet hangs over the end of the bed, like a divan!
I'm in Brighton Helen.........

Haven't had divans for years. At present, an IKEA frame and mattress, so there's no 'foot' sticking up.
shame ....and I'd got her chair ready....plugged in and everything.
