I Have just received a Radiator Bleeding Tool bought
on line which when used proved absolutely useless.
It is supposed to catch the water out of the air tap
unfortunately there was more water on the floor than
in the container.
Is there anyone else had this problem !

I have never used a special tool like this - or felt the need for one.

I usually just put some bunched-up kitchen towel against the bleed nut, and gently loosen it until the air releases/ As soos as the water leaks, screw the nut closed, and it stops.

Never had any problems doing it this way - so i would abandon the gimick and revert to the old-fashioned method.
andys dead right, just shield the valve with tissue or an old cloth.
and make sure you bleed the radiators of air with the heating off, if you do it with the heating on and the systems not designed correctly then you can actually suck air into the radiators.
