Room Speakers

Stereo speakers wired into four areas in the house.
Four sets of wires coming out of the wall behind the Radio tuner.
The question is :
What is the name of the control called that the wires should be connected to, and then to the tuner?
Idealy the areas should be controlled as and when required.

A simple patch panel would suffice.

There's the expensive way -

but I'd be inclined to DIY with a box and 4mm (banana) sockets from Maplin or similar.
