I've been thinking about getting one of those mattress toppers, the type they advertise as being used by NASA, you apparantly sink into them but they are good for your back/posture as it supports you whichever position you're in. I've seen some but they seem quite expensive ... can anyone recommend a good make/manufacturer of these that don't cost the earth?!
(Double bed size if anyone has idea on prices too). Thanks ML x

For a mattress topper your existing mattress must be in excellent condition.

The memory foam beds are no good at all if you have restless leg syndrome - you will constantly be fighting with it and end up exhausted.

Cheap memory foam can be incredibly hot, so buy a better quality one.

Sorry I can't recommend a particular one.
..no toppers are a waste of time....

..and that memory foam emits fumes for a while....

I bought a memory foam mattress off ebay recently rather than a topper as I imagine they would shift (it cost me 200) I thought i would try it out and it is the best night sleep I have ever had. I can't help smiling when I get into bed as it is such a strange, but great feeling. They smell for a couple of weeks only. They are warm. We went for a medium to firm, but have recently lay on a soft, which is even better, but it is down to personal choice. They take a couple of weeks to get used to but I wouldn't go back to a 'normal' mattress again.
tonyted - lovely if you have the strength to turn it every few days.

Those mattresses weigh a ton, and if not turned become hard and lumpy.
well i must be the odd one out as we have a mattress topper from argos had it for a couple of years and love it.Yes it did smell a bit funny for a few weeks but nothing unpleasant. It never moves .lies on top of the mattress and never goes lumpy.I do suffer from occasional restless legs but nothing to do with the mattress topper as I had trouble when on holiday on a normal mattress. So there is a different opinion just to confuse you.
