My central heating system has adopted a life of its own. Namely it wont turn off (unless I turn off the main power supply) I have a Honeywell ST699 controller. When i turn heating to 'off' the heating stays on. With the 'Water' on off it still stays on. With the thermostat turned right down the heating stays on. I would be grateful to any advise as to what the problem may be. k

It sounds like the motorised valve is stuck open. If it too is a honeywell it will look like this http://content.honeywell.com/UK/homes/images/V 4043.jpg
Get a competent person to disconnect the orange wire, if that stops the 'constantly on' problem then fit a new motorised valve head.
