My partner and I are waiting to exchange contracts on our new home, we were originally told 8 weeks by the vendor but that's come and gone, apparently the hold up is down the vendor....
He's built a house onto the side of what will be our new home, and he didn't get the plans done properly for the land registry people and he's having to get them re-done.
Its so frustrating for us, we're waiting to give notice on our flat and it seems to be dragging, I call the estate agent as frequent as poss but apart from that what else can we do? My bf's dad says we should threaten to pull out, but I'm worried about doing this!! Ahhh

Sounds like he's trying to get retrospective planning permission.

I would get your solicitor to find out what is going on. Don't trust estate agents to tell you the truth.

You can fall in love with another place just as easily.

Our buyers are trying to get planning permission and so far it's 10 months and still waiting.

Your solicitor should have made sure that any work that has been done had the correct planning permission and conformed to building regulations. I would call your solicitor as the last post said. You can always look up yourself on the council website (or pop in) to see what planning has been applied for and whether it was approved or not..
