my toilet is in a seperate room next to the bathroom. its a tiny room just enough room to get in and out with a white tiled floor the walls have been painted magnolia by the person before me. i really want to brighten this room up a bit maybe with a fresh lemon colour but not sure with the room being so small if a colour is a good idea? there is a window its a very small high rectangle shape thats too high to see out of it but it does have a big widow shelf big enough to put maybe a vase of flowers or something on any one any ideas how to make it look nicer?

sounds very much like mine verity & I'd be very wary of using a colour, I find the tinted whites are best, as it's so small. Also yellow can be surprisingly gloomy as I've found by thinking it would cheer up my spare room....it's quite the opposite & I need to do it again. My loo is just white, but it was previously apple white which was nice & fresh, with a couple of funny pics (I hear people laugh when they go in for the first time) & a plant on the window sill.
If the wall between the toilet and bathroom isnt a supporting one, knocking it down and making one large bathroom would easier to do than you may think. Then the choice of colours wouldnt be as limited.
If it is a rectangular room (very likely!) then what I would do is paint one small wall and one long wall in one colour and the other two walls in another complimentary colour, that way you don't feel as though the walls are closing in on you. I did this in my sons bedroom using two different shades of blue and I think it works really well.
