Are there any plants which will actually grow in the shade of my next door neighbours' leylandii?

Daisy Chainsaw in 10Lbs of salt?
possibly - did you know that you can ring the council and have them chop the trees down to 2 metres high now? - the neighbours do not get a say in this....
Try Foxgloves, Ferns ... in fact any plant whose natural habitat is a forest floor.
Try primroses, bluebells and any ground cover ivy.
As well as the ones already mentioned any type of primrose ,alchemilia (ladys mantle) bergenia(elephants ears) periwinkle, geranium ,the perrenial and the pelargonium type there are quite a few really just go and look at other gardens where there is a shaded dry area and look what plants do well. It's also handy to look at areas where plants grow well without much soil like crazy paving and up against walls and so on if anything grows well it should grow well in the dry shaded position next to a hedge
